Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actress and producer. She has gained recognition for her stellar performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards, including an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. The talented actress began her career in acting by performing on stage, by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. As a child, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth class production. She became deaf in one ear following a bout of mumps but did not allow this handicap to hinder the determination of her to become an actor. While in college, she studied drama after which she relocated into New York City with her ambitions with her sights set. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in the lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. The role she was offered came in the role of an actress playing the leading character Swing Shift. She has since appeared in a variety of TV movies and series over a career spanning more than three decades. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
